Another Finding Prince Charming alum has passed away, and this one has close ties to the Real Housewives. Jasen Kaplan, a celebrity makeup artist who worked with Bethenny Frankel and a number of other high-profile figures, died on New Year’s Eve at 46.
The former Real Housewives of New York star posted a touching tribute on her social media, making it known that Jasen was much more than just her makeup artist. He was a close friend.

Reality fans will remember Jasen from competing on Finding Prince Charming, Logo’s short-lived dating show from 2016. Off camera, he built an impressive career as a makeup artist to stars like Eva Longoria and Kelly Osbourne.
According to Bethenny, he became a fixture of her glam squad and an essential member of her team. She took to Instagram on New Year’s Day to pay her respects to the “magnificent, generous” friend.
“Jasen Kaplan had a positive energy that was truly infectious. He was fun, vibrant and always brought his A game. The world lost a one-of-a-kind gem on New Year’s Eve, which still doesn’t feel real,” Bethenny wrote.
She continued, “He was the ultimate connector, introducing me to hair artists, staff members, costume designers, restaurants, and beauty brands—but more than that, he made people feel seen, celebrated, and better about themselves.”
Jasen traveled around the world with Bethenny, and she said that he developed a close bond with her 15-year-old daughter, Bryn Hoppy. Bethenny said he would offer to do Bryn’s makeup every time he saw her, along with “gifting her lip gloss and tips.”
“They adored each other,” Bethenny wrote.
A cause of death has not been revealed. However, Page Six noted that he passed away in a New York City hospital just hours before the ball dropped in Times Square. His passing comes just weeks after another Finding Prince Charming alum, Chad Spodick, died at age 42. It marks a devastating ending to 2025.
