New year, new recap! After a two-week break for the holidays, The Real Housewives of Potomac returned with an all-new episode, and they took us to new heights — literally.

When we last left off, Angel was packing up her belongings, preparing to move from Potomac to Colorado thanks to a botched short-term rental agreement. In The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 10 Episode 13 “Altitude with Attitude,” she brought the ladies back to her home state, where things quickly got off to a rocky start.

After halfway explaining her move back to Colorado, Angel invited the Real Housewives of Potomac cast to join her in her home state. In typical Housewives fashion, things took a shady turn. Before embarking on the trip, Tia spent time reconnecting with her past. Plus, Monique hosted a launch event for her book, but it was her trusty old binder that got everyone talking. Take a deep breath, and keep on reading for the full breakdown of this week’s episode.

Tia revisited her family home

While Tia has been effortlessly navigating the group dynamics, her solo storyline has been largely focused on reconnecting with her family. In Episode 12, she met with her half-sister Ameera, explaining a years-long disconnect. This week, they decided to strengthen their bond by visiting their dad’s old home in D.C.

Tia revealed that she had been driving past the house for weeks, but she finally decided to contact the owners to see if she could come inside. They graciously agreed, opening their doors to let Tia, her kids, her sister, and a production crew into their home.

Was it awkward? Absolutely. That poor family just had to stand there and watch as Tia and her family made their way through the house. They recreated old photos and shed tears all over the new owner’s things. They’re going to need a mop.

As awkward as this felt to watch, it was all worth it for them. Ameera called it a “healing” experience to be able to see the house and connect with her sister. For us watching at home, it gave us more insight into the rookie Housewife, showing us a fuller picture of who she really is.

Sip, read, shade

Monique has been MIA for the last few episodes as the rumors about her ex-husband finally died down. However, she was back on the scene this week and hosted an all-cast event to celebrate the launch of her book, Love Letters from Versions of Myself. You’ve heard of a sip and see, right? Well, this was a “Sip and Read.”

All season long, Monique has made a point to let the world know that she’s not the same woman we last saw in Season 5. She isn’t dragging people anymore, but this event reminded us that she’s still shady. No amount of self-reflection or essential oil will change that.

Monique read a passage from her book, and it seems interesting. She had a full house of support, including some of her former castmates from Love & Marriage: DC. The vibes were good, but that can only last so long on a show like this.

Since Monique’s book is all about introspection and self-discovery, she challenged the ladies to do the same. Drawing from her iconic Season 5 reunion moment, she pulled out a bunch of binders, each with tabs for every cast member.

Monique had the women write down descriptive words about themselves, in addition to each of their castmates. Then, she revealed the shady twist: All of the ladies would have to read from each other’s binders, outloud for everyone at the event to hear.

Ashley had a shocking binder entry about Angel

As much as Monique tried to act like she didn’t intend for this binder activity to get shady, it took about two seconds for it to cross that line. As the ladies read each other’s binder entries, it felt like watching a replay of all of the drama we’ve seen this season.

For example, Gizelle left Stacey’s page completely blank, just like her bathrobe in Nevis. Wendy wrote a passage in her binder calling Keiarna “fake,” resurrecting their beef from the early episodes of Season 10. However, it was Ashley who really shook the table with her entry on Angel.

“Catfish not fully walking in her truth,” read the entry, which Angel ripped to shreds.

That over-the-top shade got Angel activated. We know “catfish” is a trigger word for her, and at this point, so is the word “eviction.” Ashley keeps using both, so Angel turned to Ashley and was like, “If I’m a catfish not fully walking in my truth, then why are you coming to my house?”

It’s a valid question, but Monique had to jump into the role of referee. She convinced Ashley to apologize for saying that Angel got “evicted” from her Airbnb. It went over well, and Ashley even agreed to pull the E word out of her vernacular. Hilariously, Angel also wanted “catfish” to be pulled from their vocab as well, but let’s be real. That is asking for too much. Beggars can’t be choosy.

The road to Colorado

The expectations for Angel’s Colorado trip were already low. Wendy said she thought it would be a “sh*t show,” and unfortunately, she might have manifested something.

In Angel’s defense, things did start off smoothly. She welcomed the ladies at the airport, dressed in head-to-toe denim and a cowboy hat. She was actually smiling! Then, as they piled into their cars and started heading for Angel’s house, the RHOP ladies realized something was off.

They drove for miles and miles through the mountains, losing cell phone service along the way. Then, the real kicker arrived when they pulled up to the destination, and they learned they weren’t actually staying at Angel’s house. It’s an Airbnb. They’ve been fooled again!

After all of that talk, Angel brought them to yet another short-term rental, this one an hour away from her home in Colorado. Only Keiarna and Tia earned the privilege to stay at Angel’s actual home, which she refers to as her “sacred safe space.”

Immediately, the veteran Housewives felt confused. How are you going to plan a cast trip and then divide the cast up by an hour commute through the mountains? Monique couldn’t wrap her head around all of the wasted gas from the odd arrangement.

The plot thickened when Angel started showing the ladies their rooms in the Airbnb. As they made their way around the house, and as Keiarna felt the effects of the high altitude, Angel revealed that Gizelle and Ashley would be staying in the smallest room in the house, with two twin-sized beds to share. The shade of it all!

All season long, we’ve all been begging Angel to start acting like a Housewife. Thank the Lord, she finally rose to the occasion with this bedroom shade. You know, Gizelle was probably having flashbacks to Wendy’s couples’ trip in Season 6, when she and Robyn had to flee to a hotel to escape their lackluster accommodations.

The only issue is that, unlike in Season 6, there were no other accommodations nearby. They’re isolated away in the mountains with no cell service. To make matters worse, most of the cast sided with Angel, agreeing that she finally got her “lick back” after weeks of harassment from Ashley and Gizelle.

With the odds stacked against them, Gizelle had to resort to her favorite defense mechanism: stirring up drama. She fully started reviving the conversation about Angel’s living situation in Potomac.

“We have more information about that, and I’m going to leave it right there,” Gizelle warned.

Feeling emboldened by the Colorado air, Angel didn’t take that lightly. She decided to put the cast on lockdown. If there’s more information about the eviction, or whatever you want to call it, Angel said she needed it to come out immediately. Otherwise, she said she would “shut sh*t down.” It only took her 13 episodes to find this backbone.

“Because what’s not going to happen is people coming to my home, having crazy lies about me and spreading toxic energy on my property,” Angel said. “So who has more information?”

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
