Andy Cohen Breaks Silence on RHONY OGs Leaving Bravo for New E! Show

Several Real Housewives of New York cast members have defected from Bravo to a new show on E!, but it doesn’t look like there are any hard feelings. Andy Cohen recently addressed the new show, which has a working title of The Golden Life. According to him, he’s “excited” that the RHONY stars are venturing away from Bravo, and we imagine he’s probably thrilled that people will finally stop asking him about RHONY: Legacy.

Andy Cohen is “so excited” for the former RHONY cast members

Earlier this week, E! made the announcement about the RHONY spinoff, shocking longtime Bravo fans. The news arrived several years after Bravo ditched their plans to bring the cast back for a show called RHONY: Legacy.

The cast of The Golden Life includes five former Housewives: Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Jill Zarin, Sonja Morgan, and Kelly Bensimon. The series will follow their lives and hijinks in Florida.

Although some fans saw this move as a Bravo betrayal, Andy definitely doesn’t. During the Thursday, February 5 episode of Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM he gushed about the new series and what’s in store for his former RHONY stars. They have his blessing.

“You know what? I’m so excited for them,” Andy confessed. “I texted the ladies yesterday. I think it’s gonna be a great show.”

He continued, “I could never root against these women. I absolutely love them. I love them together. So does America. I’m gonna speak for America, and I think it’s gonna be great, and I can’t wait to watch, and I’m happy for them.”

Of course, there are still going to be some RHONY fans who want to see the original cast stomping around the Big Apple as they did in their heyday. However, Andy noted that The Golden Life will follow the ladies where they really are in life. They simply aren’t New York Housewives anymore, and this show is going to meet them where they’re at.

Andy explained, “If you watch [The Real Housewives] Ultimate Girls Trip that they all did, it was really fun. That felt like kind of a series finale in a weird way. They kind of wrapped it all up, but now they’re embarking on their new lives.”

The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock, and more information on The Golden Life is coming soon.
