The Golden Life is a new series premiering on E! featuring the OG ladies of RHONY. The cast includes Sonja, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, and Kelly Bensimon. The show also originally had Jill Zarin in the cast until her recent racist and xenophobic rant led to the network giving her the boot.

The Golden Life follows the former RHONY ladies into a new chapter of their lives. Many fans asked if Bethenny would join the show, but she said she’s in a different phase of her life. For now, Bethenny’s content to cheer from the sidelines.

Sonja spoke about the show and revealed that her friend sent her a text about it before it even broke on the news.

“She (Bethenny) goes, ‘I’m so happy for you,’” Sonja shared. “And I said, ‘I knew you would be.’ You know, towards the end of Real Housewives of New York, Bethenny and I got through Tipsy Girl. And we came out stronger on the other end.”

Sonja and Bethenny famously fought over the former’s Tipsy Girl Prosecco line, which Bethenny deemed too similar to her own $100M “Skinnygirl” brand. But Sonja explained that it was all in the past. The two ended on good terms with room sharing, masks, and making out.

And Sonja is thrilled Bethenny is talking about The Golden Life because “no one is on anyone’s feed more than Bethenny.” Bethenny speaking about the series is just ensuring that more people know about the show. “Whenever she talks about us, it’s a gift,” Sonja stated.

When asked if Bethenny could potentially join the show, Sonja said that again, it would be a gift if she did, but Sonja reiterated that Bethenny has been pretty clear she doesn’t want to do TV. Sonja added that Bethenny doesn’t need to do TV anymore, either, as the business-savvy former Housewife remains booked and busy.

The Real Housewives of New York streams on Peacock.
