NeNe Leakes looks like she’s happily coupled up. Unfortunately, Arthur Earl Horne III, has a complicated past. The Memphis-based lawyer and NBA Certified Sports Agent was previously arrested for allegedly assaulting and raping his ex-girlfriend nine years ago. Uh-oh. However, it’s important to note, though, that he was not convicted of those crimes.
Arthur Earl Horne III was only convicted of a misdemeanor
According to TMZ, Arthur was arrested in February 2017. Memphis Police responded to a 911 call at the home of a former girlfriend. Per reports, the woman alleged she was beaten and sexually assaulted. She claimed injuries to her face, arms, and neck.
Arthur was then reportedly indicted, but he was only convicted of a misdemeanor with a sentence of just under a year of probation and 30 days in jail. His law office gave TMZ a statement.
“Nearly a decade ago, a jury heard all of the evidence and found Arthur Earl Horne III Not Guilty of every serious charge brought against him, including aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated assault. That is the verdict. That is the record.”
“With respect to the misdemeanor, Mr. Horne has always maintained his innocence and accepted the outcome of that proceeding while never wavering from the truth,” the statement continues. “The matter was resolved by the courts years ago, and he has nothing further to say about it.”
It looks like Arthur has moved on. Now, he is dating the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star. He and NeNe were spotted at the Memphis Grizzlies match looking cute and cuddly. Videos showed the lovebirds looking very happy.
Hopefully, Arthur’s past remains in the past, but still… NeNe has been having a pretty positive past several months. She’s in a new relationship (the second one since the passing of her husband Gregg Leakes), and she’s making her big Bravo comeback.
