Lamar Odom Claims He Experienced ‘The Afterlife’ Following Overdose

Life after death is very different than what many expect. That’s the theory Lamar Odom is sharing. The former NBA player and star of shows like Khloé and Lamar is opening up about his history of drug abuse and many of his harrowing experiences.

The two-time NBA champion says that he’s experienced “the afterlife.” He says this occurred in 2015 following a drug overdose. He had been found at a brothel called the Love Ranch in Nevada, unconscious.

Miraculously, he survived despite experiencing kidney failure, numerous heart attacks and 12 strokes. He’ll be telling his frightening tale to the public very soon.

In his 46 years on this earth, Lamar has had his share of surreal experiences. Among the biggest was his brush with death 11 years ago.

The former McDonald’s All-American is discussing the time he nearly lost his life in 2015. In an exclusive first look at his upcoming documentary with People, Lamar says the afterlife “isn’t what people make it out to be.” That’s a small sample of what promises to be a untold story in the Netflix special The Death & Life of Lamar Odom.

Lamar’s ex, Khloé Kardashian, will be a part of the documentary. In it, she says that her former husband was once “living a rockstar lifestyle.”

In January, Lamar was arrested in Las Vegas and charged with driving under the influence (DUI). He reportedly checked into a rehab clinic because of this.

Khloé and Lamar were married in 2009 before initially separating in 2013. She claims that the former basketball star previously escaped rehab to go on drug benders. While worried for his well-being, Khloé reportedly felt a duty not to disclose his drug problems for years to protect his reputation.

His latest stint in rehab, according to Lamar’s manager, Gina Rodriguez, was for marijuana use. There was concern that if he didn’t get help, he could relapse into harder and more dangerous drugs.

The Death & Life of Lamar Odom will be available on Netflix on March 31.
