Kyle Richards values family and friendships above all else. So it was comforting to hear that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star made time to attend the memorial for Mary Cosby’s late son. Even though she and the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City favorite have only met on several occasions.
Mary tragically lost her 23-year-old son, Robert Cosby Jr. last month. Authorities responded to a call about a potential overdose on February 23, 2026. Robert was “not breathing” when discovered. Medical interventions failed to save his life. Tragically, he passed away. His parents, Mary and Robert Cosby Sr., organized a touching memorial in his honor.

Kyle made it a point to attend, though she admitted to People that she doesn’t know Mary “well,” despite both starring on Bravo together.
“She’s somebody who’s always been kind when I have met her, and as a mother and a fellow Housewife, I just felt I needed to be there and show up and support her,” Kyle told the news publication.
The RHOBH star added, “It was just so incredibly moving.”
Kyle praised Mary for creating an unforgettable event in honor of her son. The memorial made quite an impression on Kyle. She said she “never experienced something like that.”
“I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to be there and support her and experience something like that. Like I said, I will never forget that day ever in my life,” the producer and actress shared.
The service was not filmed for RHOSLC, though production has begun on Season 7. Mary will continue on as a cast member, but did not want to include her son’s memorial in the footage.
Mary and Kyle have gotten closer since then. The mother-of-four revealed that they have been “texting back and forth.” She added, “I appreciated her having me there because I just, like I said, I was so touched by it. I just can’t imagine what she’s going through.”
