RHOP Alum Mia Thornton Sued in Civil Court for This Reason

Real Housewives of Potomac alum Mia Thornton has seemingly had nothing but trouble since leaving the show.

First, she was arrested for allegedly stealing over $11,000 worth of furniture from an Atlanta condo she had been renting. Now she’s being sued for unpaid back rent amid her ongoing criminal case.

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the owners of a luxury apartment building are suing Mia for back rent. Filed on March 18, the documents claim the RHOP alum owes $2,859 for the month of March.

This newest legal issue comes four months after she was arrested in Atlanta on felony theft charges. Per a police report, Mia allegedly took furniture from the condo she’d been renting when she moved out. Among the list of stolen items were radios, TVs, DVD players and other goods.

After being “taken into custody without incident,” the mom of three was transported to the Fulton County Jail.

In February, Mia was sued for eviction by Encore Management. Allegedly, Mia rented an apartment in Atlanta, but failed to pay rent on the three-bedroom, three-bathroom unit. Consequently, the management company demanded that she pay the past due amount of $5,100, plus $6,085 per month.

Following her arrest, Mia returned to social media to explain her legal issues. “This new year is about rebuilding, refining and rising with purpose,” she wrote via Instagram. “I’m grateful for the clarity that comes through adversity, and I’m committed to moving forward with integrity and grace. Thank you for the love, my loves.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac is now streaming on Peacock.
