It’s incredible how one scandal can break (or make) a career in reality TV. The stars of our favorite shows are sometimes just one bad decision away from losing it all. But should that be the case all the time? Margaret Josephs of The Real Housewives of New Jersey thinks it depends on the severity of the crime. In the case of Summer House stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s relationship, Margaret doesn’t think Amanda’s life should be ruined over it.
The former RHONJ star says Amanda “cannot be brutally attacked”
It’s particularly scandalous because West was friends with Amanda’s estranged husband, Kyle Cooke, and Amanda was friends with West’s ex-girlfriend, Ciara Miller. Everyone has an opinion about West and Amanda, including two former Housewives.
Now, Margaret adds her thoughts on the topic. She spoke with Daisy Kelliher and Marc Macnamara on the Yacht Mess Podcast. She thinks that Amanda doesn’t deserve to have her life destroyed over what’s happened with West.
Margaret feels that West and Ciara weren’t a madly in love couple, and while Ciara may have had feelings, Margaret thinks West “played her.”
“I just don’t want to vilify Amanda like everybody is,” Margaret said. “Because the way they’re coming at her, this isn’t good. This girl’s life should not be ruined by this. She is losing, basically her career.”
Margaret said that she wasn’t sure what Amanda did that was so bad that brands can’t align with her. Marc gave the example that Jen Shah went to prison and lost Housewives and all her brand deals, but Margaret and Daisy were quick to tell him that Jen broke the law. Marc quickly added that he thinks what West did was illegal. Um, what about when Marge cheated on her husband, Marc?
Margaret clarified that what Amanda and West did was unethical but not illegal, and shouldn’t be looked at in the same way.
