Donald Trump Slams Riley Gaines Over Jesus Photo Criticism

Donald Trump recently responded to a conservative activist and MAGA supporter, Riley Gaines, over her criticism of his AI-generated image of Jesus Christ. Although the post is now deleted following the immense backlash, Trump claimed that he didn’t heed Riley’s remarks about it. The deleted post was uploaded after he publicly slammed Pope Leo about his war comments.

Donald Trump fires back at Riley Gaines amid Jesus photo controversy

Recently, Donald Trump was asked by CBS’s Norah O’Donnell whether he deleted his AI-generated Jesus photo because of the backlash he received from conservatives, including Riley Gaines. Debunking that Gaines influenced his decision, Trump added, “I didn’t listen to Riley Gaines. I’m not a big fan of Riley, actually.”

Earlier, Trump portrayed himself as Jesus Christ, appearing to bless an ill patient on his Truth Social. In the AI-generated photo, he was surrounded by a nurse, a praying woman, and two military officials. The post immediately garnered a negative response, with even Gaines joining the roster to publicly slam the president about it.

She wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Why? Seriously, I cannot understand why he’d post this. Is he looking for a response? Does he actually think this?” Further stating two true things, she added, “Either way, two things are true. 1) A little humility would serve him well. 2) God shall not be mocked.”

Trump did address the backlash recently when he revealed that he posted the picture with the intent that he would be perceived as a “doctor.” He explained that it “had to do with the Red Cross as a Red Cross worker, which we support. And only the fake news could come up with that one.”

He also mentioned that he doesn’t want a pope who calls out the president of the US and added that he doesn’t want to get into any debate with him either (via Al Jazeera).
