Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have arrived in Australia for their much-anticipated four-day tour, and they’ve wasted no time in making themselves busy. In fact, one viral video shared just hours after the pair landed shows the Duchess of Sussex serving food at a women’s shelter in Melbourne.
The Duchess of Sussex found the remarks “so nice”
To recap, Harry and Meghan are currently on a multi-day trip around Australia. Before they even departed, the trip had garnered much attention, particularly regarding its funding.
But, while the Duke and Duchess have faced plenty of backlash for the visit, that wasn’t the case for Meghan when she visited a women’s shelter earlier today. In a clip making the rounds on social media, Meghan plates up a portion of food, while a woman in the background offers her a string of compliments.
“You look amazing,” the woman – who has an Australian accent – is heard telling Meghan. “You look like a model.”
“Oh my God, that’s so generous,” Meghan replied, before being given another compliment. “You’ve got children, and you don’t have any wrinkles,” the woman continued, clearly enamored by the royal. “Nice glow as well.”
Responding with a bashful laugh and a smile, Meghan said, “You are so nice!”
Despite the sweet interaction, the response online was mixed. “Love her,” one fan said on TikTok, as another commented, “Gorgeous.”
“She brings sunshine with her,” someone else added, as a fourth wrote: “Meghan is so beautiful and kind-hearted!”
“Love when women hype each other up,” another fan chimed in.
Elsewhere in the comment section, other people accused Meghan of having a “me, me, me” attitude in the clip. “Plenty of cameras,” one person said.
