‘I Feel Scared for Our Country’: Hailey Bieber on Wearing ‘ICE OUT’ Pin

In her sit-down with Interview Magazine, Hailey Bieber revisited this year’s Grammys and the “ICE OUT” pin she wore at the event. Bieber addressed why she chose to wear the pin in the first place. She connected it to her worries as a mother, and to what she sees happening in the country, offering a glimpse into how she thinks about speaking up in public, even when she knows it can bring backlash.

Hailey Bieber reveals why she opted to wear ‘ICE OUT’ pin at Grammys 2026

In a new conversation with Interview Magazine, Hailey Bieber discussed the “ICE OUT” pin she wore at the 2026 Grammys while speaking with Interview editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg. When he brought up the pin and told her he thought it was “cool” that she wore it, Bieber explained her reasoning.

She told Interview, “I feel scared for our country, and I think it’s important to speak up and support however you can,” while acknowledging the limits of a red carpet statement and still defending the idea behind it. In that, Bieber said, “Wearing an ‘ICE OUT’ pin is such a small thing that you can do in such a big, big, big, big conversation.”

Ottenberg pointed out how easy it feels to stay silent, especially when public figures fear consequences. Bieber agreed, highlighting, “Sometimes you don’t know the right thing to say or how to say it,” before adding, “but injustice is injustice, and when you have a voice to speak up for people who can’t, it’s very important to do that.”

In the interview, the Rhode founder also touched upon anxiety around raising her son, Jack Blues Bieber, and the world he will grow up in. She said she worries “every day,” and described the future as “very, very scary” and “so bleak,” while saying she tries to focus on giving him a loving home.

Hailey Bieber’s “ICE OUT” pin at the Grammys may have taken up only a small space on her outfit, but her explanation in the Interview Magazine clarified her big intention.
