Police Down Under are investigating an explosive allegation made by Ruby Rose. The actress from Orange Is the New Black accused Katy Perry of sexual assault dating back over a decade, something the latter has adamantly denied.
It was earlier this week when the Melbourne-born actress made the claims against Katy. Ruby alleges that, while she was in her 20s, she was at Melbourne’s Spice Market nightclub when the alleged incident took place. She says she has been in contact with detectives in Victoria.
Victoria police are looking into an alleged “historical sexual assault”

An investigation has been launched following Ruby’s complaints against Katy. A spokesperson for the Victoria police told Deadline that “Melbourne sexual offences and child abuse investigation team detectives are investigating (an alleged) historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010.” They were told the alleged incident occurred in the city’s central business district.
In some Meta-owned Threads this week, Ruby claimed that at that club years ago, Katy saw her “resting on my best friend’s lap, avoiding her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side, rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.”
A representative for Katy called the allegations false, while adding they are “dangerous and reckless lies.” They note that Ruby has, in the past, made her share of fiery accusations against others, which were denied. One happened last November when Sydney Sweeney was accused by her of hating gay people. She previously took aim at Batwoman producer Peter Roth. Ruby alleges that he created a toxic work environment and was verbally abusive on the set.
Ruby says that she has finalized her reports on this alleged matter and won’t be commenting further. The investigation is ongoing; thus, Victoria police say it would be inappropriate for them to comment further at this time.
