Production of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 may soon resume filming. After the Salt Lake City DA declined to file domestic abuse charges against Taylor Frankie Paul earlier this week, SLOMW could shortly be back in business.
Both Taylor and ABC must be relieved, as Taylor’s legal issues also paused The Bachelorette Season 22. Could this mean ABC will finally air The Bachelorette, too?
SLOMW could resume production soon

A source with direct knowledge told TMZ that yesterday’s decision by the DA was a major development. It could clear the way for SLOMW to resume filming, but there are still a couple of loose threads. At the moment, producers are waiting for the findings of the third-party investigation.
Someone close to Taylor also said that her focus right now is her two-year-old son with Dakota Mortensen, Ever. She is reportedly working through personal matters right now, making an effort to understand her own behavior. The source added that she hasn’t made any decision about returning to SLOMW.
Currently, Taylor’s main priority is resolving the custody of her son. If you recall, Dakota was granted temporary custody of Ever after the 2023 video was leaked.
As for Taylor’s turn as The Bachelorette, TMZ claims no decision will be made until SLOMW moves forward. Allegedly, production costs on Season 22 were somewhere between $50 and $70 million. ABC still hopes to recoup at least some of that amount through advertising revenue.
Though some criticized Taylor’s Bachelorette casting, an insider told Page Six, “Execs are under pressure to deliver ratings. The bottom line is money and [stars who have] the ability to make money.”
Meanwhile, there’s still some hope that new episodes of SLOMW will soon be on their way.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
