More details are emerging about the alleged February 2026 domestic violence incident between Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen. Taylor and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota, accused each other in the domestic violence investigation. As a result, filming for Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was paused.
Meanwhile, the district attorney’s office decided not to file criminal charges against Taylor in the 2026 case and a 2024 incident that Dakota recently reported. Taylor previously pleaded guilty in abeyance to a charge of aggravated assault from a 2023 encounter with Dakota.

Dakota previously requested, and was granted, a temporary restraining order against Taylor and temporary custody of their son, Ever. In a hearing on April 7, a judge decided that Dakota would continue to have custody of Ever, and Taylor was granted up to eight hours of supervised visitation weekly. There will be another hearing on April 30.
According to court documents submitted by Taylor, Dakota became “increasingly possessive” ahead of her Bachelorette premiere. In the wake of footage from the 2023 domestic violence incident leaking, Taylor’s season was shelved.
Now, TMZ reviewed text messages following Taylor and Dakota’s February 2026 altercation. “You don’t wanna f*ck?” he texted her, and she replied, “F*ck? My nose won’t stop sushing blood. The f*ck is wrong with you.” She also added a clown emoji. Then, Dakota claimed that Taylor mentioned sex in a previous phone call, and she texted, “I said talk the f*ck.”
Meanwhile, Dakota seemingly didn’t take the rejection well. “F*ck your abuse,” he wrote, and Taylor replied, “F*CK YOURS.” He added, “See ya in court.” However, earlier in the conversation, Dakota discussed Taylor’s turn on The Bachelorette. “And now I have to watch you fall in love with the rest of the world and give every guy a side of you I’ve craved every day,” he wrote.
