If you’re not watching the After Show for Below Deck Down Under, you’re only getting half the story, because Jenna Woudberg opened up about the demise of her boatmance with Eddy Hounsell during the latest episode.
In BDDU Season 4 Episode 12, Jenna and Eddy went on a date and tried to explore their relationship. It came after weeks of flirtation and a little bit of a love triangle with Alesia Harris. What we didn’t see was a conversation that totally sank their chances of taking this relationship off the boat.
BDDU’s Eddy doesn’t want kids, which is “a huge deal” for Jenna
“Eddy mentions he doesn’t want kids, and that’s a huge deal for me,” Jenna explained during the Episode 12 After Show about where things went wrong.
Their conversation about kids didn’t make it into the original episode of BDDU, but apparently, it made her quickly realize that Eddy is not the one for her.
“So, I automatically disconnect and switch off, because as a woman, this is my end goal in life—to have a family and to have the kids,” Jenna explained.
She added, “It’s a non-negotiable for me. So, I think that’s when I started realizing, ‘Okay, Eddy’s not the one.’”
Meanwhile, Eddy weighed in with his take, explaining that kids weren’t on his radar because he comes from a big family. He’s one of six kids, so he knows there are plenty of other people keeping the bloodline alive.
“I’ve got five siblings who are all going to have loads of kids,” he explained on the After Show. “So in my head, I’ve never liked the idea of having kids. I’ve always just thought of being Plan B: fun uncle.”
Although Eddy isn’t interested in having kids, he is interested in getting serious with a special someone. He called himself a “lover boy,” and he didn’t take his date with Jenna lightly.
“For me, I don’t like to date for the sake of just f*cking around dating,” he admitted during the After Show. “Especially now being older… I’m wanting to date to marry.”
