Bills QB Josh Allen hypes fans at Sabres game
Bills’ Josh Allen attended day two of the Sabres game in their playoff match against the Boston Bruins. He donned Alex Tuch’s No. 89 jersey and accepted the honor of banging the drum. The 30-year-old hyped the crowd to chant, “Let’s go Buffalo!” (via USA Today). ESPN shared a video of Allen on X with the caption, “JOSH ALLEN IS READY FOR PLAYOFF HOCKEY IN BUFFALO,” accompanied by a beer emoji.
After his final hit, the 30-year-old threw the drumstick away and grabbed a beer from his back pocket. He gulped down the drink in one go as the crowd roared into cheers and applause. Unsurprisingly, the post garnered 13K likes, 1.1K retweets, 558 bookmarks, and 422 comments.
One fan commented, “When your QB shows up in full Sabres gear to fire up the crowd! That’s not just a team, that’s a city. Go Buffalo!” A second fan wrote, “That man was born for moments like this.” A third fan remarked, “What do you call it: city of champions energy or the ultimate Buffalo crossover?” A fourth fan penned, “And just like that, I’m a hockey fan and a Sabres fan. Let’s go Buffalo!”
A fifth fan chimed in, “Playoff hockey in Buffalo hits different with Josh Allen in the front row. Let’s work,” followed by a fire and hockey stick emoji. Finally, one fan noted, “Josh Allen: a man of the people.”
Allen told Syracuse.com, “I think just for the city of Buffalo, I think it’s a better place when the Sabres are playing well, and it being the first playoff game in, was it 15 years? We talked about ‘One Buffalo’ for the longest time, and it’s been fun to watch them progress, and now going into these playoffs rolling.”
However, despite Allen’s best efforts to cheer the team, the Sabres lost to the Bruins in the second game (via New York Post).
