Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent knows how a scandal can rip apart a cast of formerly close friends. After all, she had a front row seat to Scandoval.
Now that the cast of Summer House is experiencing their own Scamanda involving Amanda Batula and West Wilson, Lala is offering some advice.
Recalling that she was “out for blood” at the Pump Rules Season 10 reunion, she’s advising a little more restraint. “I was ready to lose my f*cking mind, and I did,” she explained. “You guys saw it. But then what happened is I went so heavy in the paint that I kind of set myself up for failure.”
The Vanderpump Rules star has experience with dramatic reunions
“When Scamanda happened, everybody weighed in,” Lala said on her Untraditionally Lala podcast. “We had Rihanna, who unfollowed Amanda. We got the joint statement. It was very much reminding people of the scandal that happened on Vanderpump Rules … Everybody is on 100 when it comes to the comments section … It’s extremely overwhelming.”
Though the scenario seems similar, the one difference is the way Kyle Cooke responded with empathy. “Kyle has really put Amanda’s mental health on the forefront of his mind,” she oberserved.
Going into the Season 10 reunion, Lala asks for the cast to be open. No one, aside from Amanda and West, really knows what happened or when it did.
Making the situation even more upsetting is that, like VPR, the Summer House cast had a “deep-rooted history.” Sadly, some of their friendships may never recover. That’s almost certainly the case for Amanda and former bestie Ciara Miller, who was also West’s ex.
“When something like this happens … you cannot recover,” The Valley star said. “The show is just not the same, because you don’t want to film together. You don’t want to be around each other.”
“I hope that this group can handle it differently than maybe our group did,” Lala concluded. “I hope that they are all able to come together, have some downtime after the reunion before they pick cameras back up so that we don’t have such a shakeup with Summer House that people don’t even know what the show is anymore.”
Summer House airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the following day.
