Vanderpump Villa cast member Marciano Brunette is fighting against the producers of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
After filing a lawsuit against Demi Engemann and Jeff Jenkins Productions, producers now claim they have a release Marciano signed prohibiting him from suing them. Oops.
Now the people behind Hulu’s SLOMW are asking that his lawsuit be tossed out.
The Vanderpump Villa star is suing Demi Engemann and Jeff Jenkins
According to TMZ, Marciano sued Demi and SLOMW producers Jeff Jenkins for defamation. Though the server claimed that his Pump Villa hookup with Demi was consensual, she later claimed to have been sexually assaulted.
Months later, Mauricio filmed a scene for SLOMW as a favor to his friend/cast member Chase McWhorter. At the time, he was asked to sign a release, which he thought was for payment. Unfortunately, he later discovered that the document was an agreement which prohibited him from suing producers.
Now the hospitality professional claims that producers are using the release against him in his lawsuit. He also says that he never meant to release his claims against Jeff Jenkins.
As for the producers, they claim that Marciano willingly signed the release and assumed the risk of participating in SLOMW.
Additionally, in their court filing, producers added that the Las Vegas resident filmed earlier this year and signed the release.
“No one held [a gun to] his head,” a Jeff Jenkins spokesperson said. “No one forced him to sign the Participant Release. Indeed, no one forced him to participate at all.”
Attorneys for producers asked that the case be immediately thrown out of court.
Meanwhile, as far as the alleged sexual assault goes, Vanderpump Villa star and producer Lisa Vanderpump is firmly on Marciano’s side. “Any allegations against Marciano, I have the luxury of having all the footage,” she said in November 2025.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Seasons 1 through 4 are currently streaming on Hulu and Disney+. Vanderpump Villa Season 3 is also streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
