The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has its first spinoff. Hulu announced that The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County will drop later this year. So raise a dirty soda to our new group of Mormon influencers!
In a double dose of good news, SLOMW will resume filming Season 5. Filming was paused amid a domestic violence investigation involving MomTok creator Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
Taylor is reportedly set to film with her SLOMW co-stars at some point during the season. However, let’s find out who will be part of the new SLOMW show.
SLOMW OC is coming to Hulu
Rumors had been swirling about a SLOMW spinoff for quite a while. At Hulu’s Get Real House event, SLOMW stars Mayci Neeley, Miranda McWhorter, Layla Taylor, and Jessi Draper introduced the new cast.
“I actually have some friends we’d like to introduce. One of them just happens to be my sister. Maybe they can answer this question a little bit better than I can,” Mayci said.
“That’s right. MomTok is expanding and heading west. I’m so excited to introduce you guys to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County,” Miranda stated. “Please welcome Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease, Madison Bontempo, and Mayci’s sister, McCall DaPron.”
In addition, the cast includes podcaster Bobbi Althoff, although she seemingly wasn’t present at the event. Apparently, rumors that Jen Affleck was joining the spinoff were false.
“Look how hot they are!” Miranda said as the newbies took the stage. “Make room for our new sisters,” Miranda added, as Mayci quipped, “Our sister wives!” A press release for the new series read, “While some defend their way of life, fighting against modernity, others embrace change, becoming a platform to disrupt the status quo.”
The release continued, “Scandals and secrets will be revealed, facades will crumble, and families and friendships will change forever on both sides of the battlefield as this group of strong, game-changing influencers comes together to build their answer to #MomTok.” I’m here for it!
