Angelina Jolie Dragging Lawsuit To ‘Stay Tied’ to Ex Brad Pitt — Source

The long-running legal dispute between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt continues to draw attention, years after their split. What began as a disagreement over a shared business venture has evolved into a complex and highly personal legal battle.

Now, new claims suggest the ongoing case may be about more than just financial or contractual issues. According to sources, the timeline of the lawsuit has become a point of contention, with differing views on how quickly it should proceed.

Brad Pitt’s inner circle feels Angelina Jolie is dragging out winery lawsuit ‘deliberately,’ per source

At the center of the dispute is Château Miraval, the $164 million French estate once jointly owned by the former couple. The legal battle began after Jolie sold her stake in the winery to a third party, a move Pitt has challenged in court. While both sides have presented legal arguments, sources close to the situation claim tensions now extend beyond the business itself.

According to insiders, some within Pitt’s circle believe Jolie is intentionally “prolonging the case” (via RadarOnline). One source alleged there is a growing perception that “progress is being dragged out.” “…And it appears she’s doing it just so she can stay tied to Brad,” they added.

Another insider claimed the dispute may have shifted from a straightforward legal matter to something more personal. They further alleged that keeping the case ongoing “keeps a formal connection” between the two.

These claims remain unverified, and Jolie’s side has reportedly pushed back. In legal filings, she has argued that allowing more time ensures the case is handled thoroughly. A source close to her reportedly said the focus is on addressing “every aspect of the case… with the appropriate level of care,” rather than rushing toward a resolution.

The timeline of the case has reportedly become a major point of tension. Pitt is said to favor an April 2027 trial, while Jolie has supported a later date in September that year. Sources familiar with Pitt’s position claim there is “growing frustration” over the prolonged process. One insider alleged he is keen to resolve the dispute and move on, rather than remain tied up in ongoing legal proceedings.

Beyond the legal arguments, insiders suggest the case carries emotional weight due to the couple’s history. Having spent over a decade together and shared six children, they continue to let their past shape the present. As one source put it, the dispute is not purely commercial but also reflects “a deeply personal dimension.”
