A week-old video of Jimmy Kimmel making fun of Rudy Giuliani’s old age has resurfaced in the wake of the former New York City mayor’s unexpected hospitalization. The seasoned comedian had mocked Giuliani for criticizing him over his parody skit regarding the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. However, the clip of Kimmel taking shots at the Republican leader has only now started to make rounds after Giuliani experienced a sudden health scare.
Jimmy Kimmel joked about Rudy Giuliani before hospitalization
On the April 28 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the titular host threw shade at Rudy Giuliani for the latter’s reply to his WHCD act, wherein the comedian had referred to Melania Trump as an “expectant widow.”
“So, last night, America’s mayor, Rudy Giuliani, rose from the grave to weigh in on the ongoing drama involving me,” Kimmel quipped. He then played a video of the ex-mayor slamming the late-night talk show host for his WHCD skit. In the clip, a repulsed Giuliani could be seen calling out Kimmel by describing him as “distasteful” and an “incompetent jackass.”
“I have to say, it hurts to be called distasteful by a man who farted his own pants off in front of Borat’s daughter,” Kimmel continued, before adding, “It’s confusing to be called an incompetent jackass by a man who accidentally held a press conference outside a dildo store…Does this man have any family members who can come get him already?”
Kimmel’s roast of Rudy Giuliani resurfaced on the internet after political strategist Ted Goodman broke the news of his recent hospitalization. “Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” he announced via an X (formerly Twitter) post on May 4. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak. We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor, Rudy Giuliani.”
In his latest update, Goodman revealed that the former mayor is currently “recovering from pneumonia.” The consultant also noted that Giuliani initially needed “mechanical ventilation to maintain adequate oxygen,” but has started “breathing on his own” since.
