Nancy Guthrie Case: Kash Patel’s Claim Brutally Dismissed by Sheriff’s Office — Report

FBI director Kash Patel has recently discussed the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, claiming on the “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast that the federal agency was “kept out of the investigation” for four days. However, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has reportedly dismissed his claims.

Pima County Sheriff’s department reportedly fires back at Kash Patel’s claim in Nancy Guthrie case

FBI director Kash Patel recently appeared on the “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast and opened up about the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. On the podcast, Patel claimed that the Pima County Sheriff’s Department kept them “out of the investigation” for four days. Moreover, he even criticized the way the department was handling the case, including their decision to send critical evidence to the Florida lab instead of the FBI lab in Quantico.

Now the local sheriff’s office, looking into the investigation, is hitting back at Patel over his claims. They stated that “Sheriff Nanos responded to the scene the night of the incident, providing immediate local leadership and oversight. A member of the FBI Task Force was also notified and present at that scene, working alongside our personnel.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office also told TMZ that “the FBI was promptly notified” by both their department and the Guthrie family. They continued, “While the FBI Director was not on scene, coordination with the Bureau began without delay.”

Speaking further about the lab decision, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the “decisions regarding evidence processing were made on scene based on operational needs.” As per the Office, the lab utilized by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI Laboratory in Quantico “have worked in close partnership” from the beginning. Moreover, they “continue to collaborate in the analysis of evidence.”

Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC’s “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, was reportedly last seen from her Tucson, Arizona home on January 31. She was reported missing on February 1. While reportedly nothing substantial has come to light yet, the Pima County Sheriff’s Offices “remain committed to a thorough, coordinated, and fact-based investigation.” Moreover, they “will continue working closely” with their “federal partners as the process moves forward.”
