It’s not every day that you find yourself relating to a literal princess. But, on a royal visit this week, Kate Middleton made a comment that proved that she really is a human, just like the rest of us.
Kate met with some families during her visit
On May 6, Kate visited a university in London as part of her Foundations for Life initiative. While there, the Princess of Wales spoke with local families and parents. And it was during this meet-and-greet that she had a touching moment with a fellow mother.
“It does take energy and effort to go and actually find that village,” she said to the mother. “What we’re really hoping to do is try and make that easier for families.”
So, what actually is Foundations for Life? As Kate explained, it’s “for mums and all parents to try and have access to that really important information and that guidance, but in a more tangible way.”
The guide aims to make it easier for professionals to access key research and tools, and will be available online. Kate, who has always been clear about her passion for childcare and early education, even wrote in an introduction to the guide.
“Now is the moment to place care and connection at the heart of all we do. And to shape a future in which love can truly flourish,” she said in the guide’s introduction. “In a world which feels increasingly distracted, fragmented and digital, where life’s pace, noise and interruptions can be overwhelming, I believe it is more important than ever to invest in what truly helps us to thrive: human connection.”
As for how she maintained that connection with her own children on the day? In a nod to her three kids, Kate wore a gold necklace with charms of their initials.
