Donald Trump’s Surgeon General Pick Criticized Him in Now-Deleted Post

Dr. Nicole Saphier’s deleted tweets criticizing Donald Trump and RFK Jr.’s health policies in the past have resurfaced. The old tweets have come to light shortly after the president selected her as his nominee for Surgeon General.

Donald Trump’s surgeon general nominee reportedly criticized him

Nicole Saphier’s deleted posts from 2025 and 2026, which were critical of Donald Trump, can be viewed on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, as verified by CNN.

In one deleted post from June 2025, Saphier called the feud between Trump and Elon Musk “petty, loud, & obnoxious.” She described it as “watching two billionaires throw sand in a sandbox.” In another tweet, Saphier slammed the president for telling pregnant women to “tough it out” and avoid medication.

“As a mom of 3 kids, I don’t love a man telling me to ‘tough it out’ when it comes to pregnancy. Words matter. Facts matter too,” the doctor wrote in the now-deleted tweet.

Another deleted tweet from Saphier criticized Trump for urging pregnant women not to take Tylenol. “This isn’t the first or second time he has said this. Obviously something was said to POTUS behind closed doors, and the public deserves transparency on the data presented to substantiate these statements,” she said.

Multiple other deleted tweets by Saphier have resurfaced, where she raised questions about the transparency regarding Trump’s own health.

Saphier has now set her X account to private. A tweet that she made on Trump’s Inauguration Day 2025 is still visible to the public. It features a series of photos of Saphier with the president. “It’s been a wild 8 years and I’m grateful to have been a part of it,” she wrote in the post. Saphier added, “Repeal & Replace➡️COVID➡️MAHA, I have been privileged to have a front row seat while history is being made. Welcome back, Mr. President @realDonaldTrump — the next 4 years will be busy and I’m ready for it.”

Meanwhile, White House spokesperson Kush Desai has recently stated that Saphier “will be a powerful asset for President Trump and work tirelessly to deliver on every facet of his MAHA agenda.”
