Nancy Guthrie Case: Sheriff Gives Bombshell Update on Abduction

Nearly 100 days after Nancy Guthrie vanished from her home in the Catalina Foothills, Arizona, there are no major updates on the case. However, Sheriff Chris Nanos, who is leading the investigation, indicated that detectives are closing in. The Pima County sheriff said he was “really great” before he climbed into his white Chevrolet Corvette. He did not add any detail and declined to say anything about Mother’s Day, but he did say that the investigators are inching closer to solving the case.

Nancy Guthrie case: Sheriff Chris Nanos claims ‘they are closer’ to solving abduction

In an exclusive exchange with Fox News Digital, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, the lead investigator in Nancy Guthrie’s case, gave a major update. He answered the question many have been asking about the case much more directly than ever before.

When the reporter asked Nanos how he was, the sheriff said he was “really great.” The reporter then asked him if he had a message for the Guthrie family for Mother’s Day, to which Nanos responded with, “No, I’m OK,” prompting the question, “It’s 100 days now, almost, sir. Are you guys any closer to solving?” To this, Nanos replied with, “We are.”

Late last month, a private forensic lab in Florida sent a hair sample to the FBI for advanced analysis, and relatives and workers who had reason to be at the house have already given voluntary DNA samples. If the hair does not match any of them, investigators could turn to forensic genetic genealogy in hopes of finding a suspect.

There are no clear updates in the Nancy Guthrie case, but Sheriff Nanos kept his card close to his chest, offering nothing beyond those few words. And for a case that has been going on for months, the remark suggested that the people working this case believe they are finally moving in the right direction.
