Donald Trump’s latest UFO file release blew up among conspiracy theorists and longtime believers at first, but not everyone is buying the administration’s motives behind the move. Some former Trump supporters are now accusing the White House of using the declassified documents as a political distraction rather than a genuine push for transparency.
Last week, Trump’s administration released roughly 160 pages of declassified UFO files, including photos, videos, and witness testimonies. While many MAGA supporters initially celebrated the release online, reactions quickly shifted once people realized the files offered little definitive proof surrounding extraterrestrial life.
Political Strategist Christopher Lee slams Donald Trump’s UFO file exposure
Political strategist for Foresight Strategic Advisors, Christopher Lee, told RadarOnline.com the move looked less like meaningful disclosure and more like a classic political diversion tactic.
“When you’re bleeding in the news cycle, throw something shiny overboard and hope the sharks chase it instead,” Lee said.
According to Lee, the strategy may briefly dominate headlines, but it rarely works long term unless voters see real improvements in everyday issues affecting their lives.
“You have to prove the magic tonic actually works,” he explained. “In this case, give actual proof that gas prices have dropped, that the chaos stopped, and that someone’s actually in charge for once.”
Lee also argued that most voters are more concerned with inflation, housing costs, and international conflict than UFO speculation. He compared the document release to “a bad series reboot” designed to appeal to only a small segment of the public.
Some former Trump allies appeared to echo similar frustrations. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene reportedly dismissed the release as “propaganda,” while podcast host Joe Rogan allegedly suggested it served as a distraction from rising tensions involving Iran.
Lee went even further, claiming the administration appeared increasingly desperate as approval ratings continued slipping ahead of the midterm elections.
“Unless some alien ship actually lands on the South Lawn, this isn’t going to move the needle,” he said.
The strategist also pointed toward growing pressure on Republican candidates in key congressional races, arguing that political distractions would not solve deeper voter concerns.
“Fact is, this UFO play isn’t about disclosure, it’s about distraction,” Lee claimed. “And the simple reality of it is that Trump is running out of tricks.”
The White House has not publicly responded to criticism surrounding the UFO file release.
