Meghan Markle is displeased with Kate Middleton and accuses the Princess of Wales of stealing the spotlight, according to a source. The insider told In Touch that Markle feels this way after learning that Middleton will soon embark on a two-day official trip to Italy. This comes just days after her much-talked-about Australia visit with Prince Harry.
“Meghan says every time she and Harry start building momentum, the royal machine suddenly swings into action and steals the spotlight away from them again,” a source told the outlet. They further added that the Duchess is “sick and tired of it.”
Middleton will embark on a trip after a very long time. However, Markle feels that timing is very obvious, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just returned from their Australia trip. The source explained, “She and Harry have just come back from this great overseas trip [to Australia] and they’re finally getting some positive press and suddenly Kate’s everywhere again.” With this move, the source feels that Middleton is “trying to reestablish her territory and Meghan is convinced it’s because Kate is feeling threatened”.
The insider further claimed that “Meghan has always said that Kate was unnecessarily competitive with her” from the very beginning, and the same sentiment is apparent with this trip. A second source revealed that Markle thinks “this whole rollout of appearances and projects by Kate is a calculated move to shift the focus back onto her and the monarchy.” The Duchess of Sussex reportedly does not believe that it’s a “coincidence.”
