Australian I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Cancelation Rumors Swirl

It looks like Robert Irwin might be out of a job, because rumor has it that the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here has been cancelled.

Robert has been co-hosting the show alongside Julia Morris since 2023, though the show itself has aired for over a decade. Now, insiders say that Paramount, the parent company behind the show, has pulled the plug.

But is there any truth to those rumors?

I’m A Celebrity airs on Network 10 in Australia, dragging celebrities to the jungle and forcing them to outlast each other in the wilderness. A public vote determines the winner, also known as the King or Queen of the Jungle. But according to a report from TV Blackbox, that might all be coming to an end.

Allegedly, the production company behind the long-running series is scrambling to find a new network for the show after Paramount abruptly axed it. Insiders close to the situation listed a few reasons for the decision. Of course, money is at the center of it.

Supposedly, the show has grown to become costly to produce, and the ratings have slipped in recent years. That’s usually the perfect recipe for cancellation.

On top of that, it’s rumored that Julia has become “difficult” on set and that a rival Australian network is eyeing Robert for a different role. In the meantime, he’s also preparing to host a Dancing with the Stars spinoff in the United States.

The cancelation rumblings come after Network 10 already axed The Amazing Race: Australia. Plus, the status of Australian Survivor remains murky, with some fans speculating it’s also ending. Rumor has it that Network 10 execs may be shifting their focus toward Big Brother with hopes to revitalize it with a longer season format.

For now, it’s worth noting that these are all just rumors. A Network 10 spokesperson commented on the matter and insisted that they haven’t made any decisions on the show’s future. It hasn’t officially been canceled.

“Decisions regarding the 2027 program schedule, including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be made in the coming weeks,” a Network 10 spokesperson told news.com.au.
