The View’s Whoopi Goldberg and her co-hosts slammed the US President Donald Trump for his lack of concern about America’s financial situation. The 79-year-old’s comments came amid the ongoing Iran War, which has taken a massive toll on the United States’ economy.
Whoopi Goldberg criticizes Donald Trump after recent comments
Earlier this week, during The View’s Hot Topic segment, the panel of hosts criticized Donald Trump after he said he doesn’t think about America’s financial situation.
The show’s co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, brought up the topic by discussing “bleak news” about the American economy. But before she expressed completely what’s on her mind, she played a clip of the president.
In the video, a journalist asked the Republican leader to what extent the American financial situation motivates him to make a deal with Iran. In response, he said, “Not even a little bit.” He emphasized that he doesn’t think about the country’s financial situation and that the “only thing that matters” is that Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon.
Back on the show, Whoopi Goldberg noted that it is no longer Joe Biden’s economy, but rather Donald Trump’s. “Grow a pair,” the Oscar-winning actress remarked.
Subsequently, Sara Haines commented, summarizing how the inflation and consumer price index have risen significantly in a short period. She criticized the president for not following through on his promise to citizens to make “life more affordable.” Haines also noted that Trump’s remarks about not caring were probably the “truest thing he may have said in his life.”
Next, Joy Behar jumped in and said that Trump has neither fixed America’s financial situation nor “done much in Iran either.” She added, “They’re at the same place they were before he started this. So shut up and stop lying.”
Sonny Hostin then said that the administration has spoken about a ceasefire. However, she also said that news outlets have reported that Iran still retains the majority of their weapon capacity. She added that the country went into an “illegal, unconstitutional war by the president’s choice,” which has reportedly cost $29 billion of taxpayers’ money, noting that it was all “for nothing.”
Finally, Alyssa Farah Griffin said that everybody agrees that Iran shouldn’t have nuclear weapons. But noted that the American financial situation should be prioritized as it feels “more urgent.” She also pointed out that somehow Trump says things that would’ve otherwise “tanked” any other politician’s career.
