Donald Trump was recently photographed with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his three-day visit to Beijing. The photo quickly went viral on social media after netizens spotted the US president’s makeup-covered hand.

The snapshot captures Trump all smiles as he stands beside President Xi inside the Temple of Heaven. The POTUS’s right hand appears to have a patch of foundation to cover up his bruises.

In the past, Trump has often been spotted with his makeup-covered hand in public appearances. The mysterious bruise is often attributed to several reasons. Earlier this year, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day, every day.”

Trump himself addressed the issue while speaking with CNN in January. The president stated that he got the bruise because he “clipped it on the table.” He added, “I put a little — what do they call it? — cream on it. But I clipped it.”

Further, Leavitt gave a statement, explaining, “At the Board of Peace event today in Davos, President Trump hit his hand on the corner of the signing table, causing it to bruise.”

Trump also shared that he takes a high dose of aspirin, which has made him susceptible to bruising. “I would say, take aspirin if you like your heart, but don’t take aspirin if you don’t want to have a little bruising,” the POTUS said. He added, “I take the big aspirin, and when you take the big aspirin, they tell you, you bruise. The doctor said, ‘You don’t have to take that, sir, you’re very healthy.’ I said, ‘I’m not taking any chances.’”

Accompanying Donald Trump to his three-day China visit were prominent government officials such as Marco Rubio, Scott Bessent, Pete Hegseth, and more, as well as tech giants like Elon Musk and Tim Cook.
