Since news of the dating scandal involving Amanda Batula and West Wilson arrived (and broke the internet), Summer House fans have been left questioning how it will impact the cast dynamic moving forward. Now, OG Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard has spoken out on exactly that…
Where does the Summer House cast stand today?
To recap, Amanda announced in January that she and Kyle Cooke had separated after four years of marriage. Just two months later, in March, she made another announcement … and sent the Bravoverse into meltdown. Taking to Instagram, Amanda revealed she and West, who previously dated her bestie, Ciara Miller, had been romantically involved since February.
The dating scandal has – much like Scandoval, which came before it – turned things upside down for the Summer House cast. As such, viewers have been doubting how, and if, the show can go on. But Lindsay has now said she’s “not concerned” about that. Speaking to In Touch, she explained the show’s OGs rallied around in the scandal’s wake to protect Summer House.
“This scandal broke out, and there was a lot of chaos around us. The OGs got together to be like, ‘Okay, we’re going to protect everything we built in this moment’,” she shared. “I think that is powerful, because it’s like … we’re going to come together and protect what we built.”
To that end, Lindsay says the cast – some of whom have known each other for decades and all share the same friendship group – can get through this. “It’s not just for a TV show, we are sharing the exact same group of friends at all times for like, going on 15 years now,” she pointed out.
“We have a perfect formula for great viewing at all times,” she went on. “So Summer House is going to thrive and succeed.”
