There are some big changes coming to a long-running UK dance competition. Strictly Come Dancing revealed its new hosts ahead of Season 24. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman departed as presenters last year.
That is far from the only change viewers will see when the new season comes out. While 15 of the 20 dancers last year will be back, they will be joined by a fresh group of dancers from the international scene. Audiences will see three new faces coming soon.
Emma Willis, Josh Widdecombe, and Johannes Radebe are part of the Strictly hosting team
Some familiar names are coming together as co-hosts for Strictly Come Dancing. Emma Willis, Josh Widdecombe, and Johannes Radebe were unveiled by the BBC as the new co-hosts on Tuesday.
You may know Emma best as the host of a couple of UK versions of Big Brother, and she currently hosts Love Is Blind: UK. Josh, meanwhile, hosts the late-night show The Last Leg. Johannes, on the other hand, should complement those two with his knowledge of dancing, as he is a professional dancer who has been on his share of big tours.
Over its lengthy span on the air, the program has had 23 seasons with nearly 500 episodes. This upcoming season will mark the first time that Strictly has three permanent presenters. Sir Bruce Forsyth did briefly share hosting duties with Claudia in his later years on the show.
Zeroing in on those three was a lengthy process. Several major TV personalities participated in the audition process, with many screen tests. Zoe Ball was among those taking part who did not make the final cut. Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke will be returning for Season 24.
They are not the only reality show to be going through big changes for an upcoming season. The Voice in the US recently made some major changes, including adding Queen Latifah as a coach. Riley Green is also a newcomer in that department. Season 24 of Strictly Come Dancing is expected to premiere this fall.
