Craig Revel Horwood opened up about a terrifying incident during a past vacation in Madrid, Spain. Speaking on his Judgemental podcast with fellow judge Anton Du Beke, Horwood revealed that he was stabbed and robbed while walking back from a nightclub.

The longtime judge on the U.K.’s Strictly Come Dancing, Horwood, expressed his worst summer getaway experience. In the podcast on August 4, he explained that while returning home from a nightclub in the early hours of the morning, he was attacked. He said, “It was a razor blade… I was slashed… (in the) stomach coming home from a club; it was probably two o’clock in the morning.”
He recalled that his jewellery was stolen, his necklace was ripped off, and he was left with a big burn mark.
Although he did not reveal any information about the attacker or the time of his Spain trip, Craig Revel Horwood said that the nightmare did not end there. After returning to France, authorities strip-searched him because his injuries and disheveled appearance made them suspect he was carrying drugs.
He emphasized, “I hadn’t shaved, so I did look a bit of a wreck… I’d been stabbed, I had burn marks all around my neck… And then the French strip searched me down to literally nothing… they were looking for drugs.”
The West End star also shared about another travel mishap that he experienced during his trip to Kenya. Horwood said he flew to Mombasa, looking forward to a safari trip. But after landing, he learned that the hotel he had booked and paid for had burned down.
