Ariana Madix knows a thing or two about love, having been through one of the most traumatic breakups in reality TV history, and then going on to host Love Island USA. To that end, she just offered up some advice for the romantic hopefuls about to enter the villa this season…
What should Islanders do when entering the villa?

“It sounds cliché, but be yourself,” Ariana told PEOPLE of how to succeed on Love Island.
Elaborating on that, she said: “Being yourself is what made the people who make the show fall in love with you. And that’s what’s gonna make the audience fall in love with you.”
“It’s what’s gonna make the Islander that you have a crush on fall in love with you,” she continued. “Being authentic and vulnerable and showing yourself is really the best thing you can do in that situation.”
And clearly, being authentic and vulnerable is a tactic that has served Ariana herself quite well. After her relationship with Tom Sandoval fell apart on Vanderpump Rules, Ariana’s life completely turned around. For the better.
Rather than crumbling, the former bartender went from strength to strength. She landed social media gigs and advert collabs aplenty. She also opened her own sandwich store and competed on Dancing with the Stars. Now she’s the host of Love Island USA.
Commenting on exactly that, she called it her “dream job.”
“Honestly, being the host of Love Island is something that I think I would’ve talked about in my living room with my friends as a dream job I would love to have,” she explained. “To be able to say that not only am I the host of my favorite show, but I’m also the host of the number-one show in all of streaming, scripted, or unscripted, that’s something I’m very, very proud to be a part of.”
Love Island USA is streaming on Peacock, with Season 8 premiering in June.
