A source reportedly close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle told Star Magazine that any discussion of divorce is up against an uncomfortable financial reality in their marriage.
During an appearance on “The Nerve with Maureen Callahan,” journalist Rob Shuter alleged that the Sussexes have little holding them together beyond a brand, claiming, “They don’t really have any common interests apart from the Sussex brand.” Shuter called Harry “Mr. Mom,” while claiming that Markle chases business deals and hangs out in different social circles.
Moreover, royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo told The People’s Channel, “The marriage has been a huge success for Megan in terms of her profile, in terms of her business career, in terms of her wealth and her status.” However, he added, “I think for Harry, one must objectively say the marriage has been a disaster in terms of his standing, his approval ratings, his connection to the monarchy, his connection to the British people,” while noting that the couple still appears “resilient” and “personally united.”
And yet, the source told Star Magazine that the Sussexes “are definitely worth a whole lot more together than apart.” They added, “So for the time being it appears they’re stuck with each other, whether they like it or not,” and the arithmetic is brutal.
