Zendaya is juggling a lot, all at the same time: a new film, the final season of “Euphoria,” and playing a goddess in “The Odyssey”. However, nothing apparently slows her down quite like being on the “Spider-Man” set with Tom Holland.
The actor says returning to the franchise with her partner feels less like work and more like a homecoming. And so, for all the film premieres and press tours, Zendaya is proudly letting everyone know that the web-slinger movies are in their own category in her heart.
Zendaya on working with Tom Holland in Spider-Man franchise: ‘It’s like coming home’
Speaking to ELLE about working with Tom Holland, Zendaya raved, “Spider-Man was a dream; I get to go to work every day with my best friend, the person that I love,” adding, “We bring our dogs to work; it’s like a family affair.”
The couple first met a decade ago on “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and they have grown up together on those massive Marvel sets. They kept their romance mostly private even after a 2021 kiss made headlines, and a diamond ring on Zendaya’s finger at the 2025 Golden Globes fueled engagement rumors that they have never officially confirmed. But when she talks about making the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” the love between the two actors is hard to miss.
Zendaya seemed nostalgic, telling ELLE, “We grew up on those movies!” and “It’s like coming home.”
Additionally, the “Dune” star has also watched Holland take on the role of Telemachus in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” and although their characters share no scenes, she got to see her partner from the sidelines. She gushed, “I could have cried, I was so proud.”
Zendaya and Tom Holland’s life together now includes three dogs after a recent adoption, which Zendaya joked “logistically, it wasn’t probably the smartest idea,” but “emotionally, it was.” And as the dogs join the couple on set, they bring the whole family together in the truest sense.
