Sources claim Kate Middleton agrees that some distance between Sarah Ferguson, AKA Fergie, and the royal family is necessary. That said, she allegedly disagrees with what has been described as the “harsh way” the situation has been handled.
One insider alleged that the former Duchess of York has made efforts to reconnect with certain members of the royal family, only to feel repeatedly shut out. According to the source, she has found the alleged silence and distance especially “tormenting” (via Examiner).
Th future queen consort, however, reportedly believes there should be room for understanding rather than completely closing the door on communication.
“Kate doesn’t feel that’s the right way to handle this,” the insider claimed. “She believes Sarah deserves that bit of mercy.” While Middleton seemingly is protecting the monarchy’s reputation during a difficult chapter, sources claim she also feels empathy for Ferguson on a personal level.
The reported sympathy may not be entirely surprising. Earlier insider claims suggested Kate Middleton has long viewed Sarah Ferguson’s situation with nuance, particularly when it comes to her close ties with Andrew.
