The social experiment that is Survivor has seen plenty of unlikely alliances, romances and friendships through the years. Jenna Lewis Dougherty had a lot of time to think about who she’d share a dressing room with for the Survivor 50 finale. The woman who played the original season of Survivor: Borneo was voted off first this season.
She was surprised to learn who she’d be sharing a room with backstage of the CBS studio. Jenna called it an “odd” pairing.

They never spent any time together on the island, but they got to know each other well backstage at last Wednesday’s finale. On her Instagram post, Jenna revealed that she’d be sharing a dressing room with Benjamin ‘Coach’ Wade.
While she felt it was a bizarre pairing, Jenna added that it was also “amazing.” Coach added, “I’m enjoying our time together,” and Jenna said she was as well.
Jenna’s Instagram post goes on to detail her interactions with Coach in their shared space before the next Survivor winner was crowned. “Coach and I were sharing a dressing room in the green room at Survivor 50 finale, and I had such a good time chatting with him!” wrote Jenna in her post.
In the video, neither Coach nor Jenna exactly understood why they were put together. She also praised Coach’s shoes in the dressing room backstage.
While Jenna was only a part of the pre-jury segment on Wednesday’s live finale, Coach played a part in the last episode as he was on the jury. In the end, he voted for Jonathan Young to win. Aubry Bracco was crowned the $2 million winner by a vote of 8-3-0 over Jonathan and Joe Hunter.
After being voted out first, Jenna claimed in her exit interviews that a lack of connections was to blame. She says plenty of people out there knew each other and were pre-gaming beforehand. Prior to Season 50, the last time Jenna played was in Season 8, finishing third in Survivor: All-Stars.
