Ivanka Trump signalled that her relationship with her niece, Kai, is as close as ever, sharing a sun-drenched paddleboarding photo from the Bahamas. The images have arrived just weeks after netizens noticed Ivanka’s absence from the 19-year-old’s high school graduation.
However, now, the pictures posted during Donald Trump Jr.’s Memorial Day weekend wedding celebrations are quite telling. In the photos, the aunt and niece are smiling on the paddleboard, both in bikinis and seemingly enjoying each other’s company.

Ivanka Trump’s photo dump was a wink at her relationship with her niece, Kai. Whatever scheduling conflicts kept them apart during the graduation in May, there seems to be no distance between them now.
The photo captured the pair taking a break from paddling, with Ivanka in a yellow bikini and a hat shielding her face, while Kai donned a two-piece, both looking relaxed and fit. Before the picture made it to Ivanka’s carousel, she posted it on her Instagram Story, calling Kai “the best paddleboard partner.”
Kai’s graduation from The Benjamin School in Jupiter, Florida, on May 15, caught everyone’s attention for those who did not attend. Ivanka, who lives just 90 minutes south in Miami, was not there. Tiffany Trump sat with the family while Eric Trump, Lara Trump, and the president were traveling back from a summit in China.
Notably absent as well were first lady Melania Trump and Barron, who also skipped the graduation and reportedly passed on the wedding weekend entirely, with an insider telling Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice on Substack, “Melania did not want to spend a full weekend with Donald’s adult children from previous marriages.”
But any suggestion of a crack in Ivanka and Kai Trump’s relationship dissolved under the Bahamian sun and the photos. The two have famously shared a bond that fans often note goes beyond family ties, with many pointing out how much Kai mirrors her aunt’s style and athletic drive.
