King Charles aims to heal the wide rift between Kate and Meghan
According to Heat, Charles believes both Meghan and Kate now play a central role in shaping the ongoing tension between Prince Harry, Prince William, and the rest of the royals.
“The thinking is that the wives have become emotionally central to everything,” a source told the outlet, adding that Kate has William’s trust while Meghan remains Harry’s closest confidante.
The timing is particularly significant. Harry and Meghan are expected to travel to Birmingham in July as preparations continue for the 2027 Invictus Games. Reports have also suggested Harry hopes the event could become an opportunity for reconciliation with his father.
The Duke of Sussex has reportedly expressed interest in having King Charles participate in the opening ceremony for the games, which would mark a rare public appearance between the two following years of strained relations.
For Charles, however, the family tensions reportedly extend beyond public appearances and headlines. Insiders claim the king also hopes improved relations could eventually allow him to spend more time with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
