Spencer Pratt Alleges Oscar Winners Backing Mayoral Campaign; Has ‘Witnesses’ if They Deny It

Spencer Pratt says his campaign for Los Angeles mayor has attracted support from some very famous corners of Hollywood. The reality TV star recently claimed that two Oscar-winning actors reached out to support his mayoral run.

For Pratt, the alleged endorsements are the latest sign that his unlikely mayoral run is being taken more seriously than many expected.

Spencer Pratt is ready with “witnesses” should the Oscar-winners deny supporting his run for LA mayor

Reality TV fans first knew Pratt as one of the most polarizing faces on MTV. These days, however, he’s spending less time discussing reality-show drama and more time talking about city politics.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Pratt claimed that Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx personally voiced support for his campaign. “I don’t name-drop, but I had two of my favorite people ever support me,” Pratt told the outlet. He added that both men allegedly expressed support for efforts to improve public safety in Los Angeles.

Pratt even joked that if representatives for either actor deny the conversations happened, he has “multiple witnesses” who can back up his account.

Neither DiCaprio nor Foxx have publicly addressed the claim.

The 42-year-old said hearing encouragement from two Hollywood heavyweights felt surreal. But Pratt insists his mayoral bid isn’t a publicity stunt designed to generate headlines.

According to him, the campaign grew out of frustration following the devastating California wildfires earlier this year. Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag were among thousands of residents who lost their homes during the disaster.

That experience appears to have reshaped his priorities.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Pratt said public support from wildfire victims convinced him the campaign could resonate beyond reality television audiences. He described receiving enthusiastic reactions while speaking with affected communities and local leaders.

Pratt is running against incumbent Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and Councilwoman Nithya Raman. He also pushed back against suggestions that he is aligned with the MAGA movement following public praise from Donald Trump. Instead, Pratt described himself as politically independent.

“I’m a centrist; my party is common sense,” he told the magazine.
