Tisdale did this with a new blog post, explaining that the decision is rooted partly in an uncomfortable experience from her own childhood and partly in concerns about safety as a parent. Writing candidly, Tisdale recalled a moment from when she stayed at a friend’s house as a child.
She elaborated on the fact that she unknowingly sleepwalked during the night while older boys were visiting the home. The next morning, Tisdale said the boys mocked her for it, leaving her feeling embarrassed, exposed, and deeply uncomfortable. But for Tisdale, the hesitation now goes far beyond childhood memories. She explained that becoming a mother changed the way she thinks about trust and safety inside other people’s homes.
Meanwhile, Tisdale acknowledged that while most sleepovers are harmless and fun, she pointed out that parents can never fully know what goes on behind closed doors, who may be present in a house, or how situations are handled privately. Also, she described this rule as a personal boundary based on instinct and caution. At the same time, the actress made it clear she does not want her daughters to miss out on friendships or childhood experiences, so she and some of her friends have already discussed alternative ‘sleepover-style’ plans for the future.
