Donald Trump Used Kennedy Center To Bring Performers for Freedom 250 — Source

Organizers for Freedom 250 reportedly wanted high-profile performers for the show, backed by Donald Trump. They privately suggested that those who participate might get consideration for future Kennedy Center Honors. However, their plans went awry as various stars backed out.

Sources suggest Donald Trump thought Kennedy Center would bring artists

Insiders told Naughty But Nice that the organizers privately told the participants about the chance to be considered for future Kennedy Center Honors as a way to attract the best talent. However, things didn’t work out as they planned, and many artists who were announced earlier parted ways with the event. The source said, “There was a belief that access, prestige, and even the possibility of future Kennedy Center recognition could help open doors. But even that wasn’t enough to convince many artists.”

Earlier, the artist lineup included Morris Day and the Time, Young MC, Martina McBride, and The Commodores. At the time, Keith Krach, CEO of Freedom 250, released a statement, expressing excitement and revealing what the event stands for. He said, “The performers, innovators, military heroes, and everyday Americans showcased here represent the very best of who we are, and the boundless opportunity ahead.”

Ahead of this, he also stated, “The Great American State Fair is America on display and a moment for America to come together.” He said that the event will assemble people from all states to pay tribute to “the traditions, innovation, music, military heritage, freedom, and entrepreneurial spirit that define our nation” (via NBC News).

The aforementioned artists took to social media separately to announce that they are stepping away from the event.
