Sydney Sweeney Makes a Big Move After ‘Euphoria’ Ends

Sydney Sweeney is taking her career in a new direction. Following the end of HBO’s “Euphoria,” the actress is expanding her presence behind the camera with a major business move.

A new report claims that she has launched her own production company and secured a significant partnership with Sony Pictures. The development is said to be the latest sign that Sweeney is positioning herself as more than just one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors.

Sydney Sweeney launches Honey Trap production company with Sony Pictures deal

Sydney Sweeney is reportedly betting big on her future behind the camera. According to Deadline, the “Christy” star has launched Honey Trap, a new production company that will operate under a first-look deal with Sony Pictures.

The reported agreement allows the studio to review projects first developed through the company. As such, it could potentially place Sweeney at the center of a growing slate of film and television productions.

The venture is said to have been created with longtime creative collaborator Kaylee McGregor, who will reportedly serve as president of production and development. Together, they are expected to focus on developing original projects while continuing to build relationships with writers, directors, and emerging talent.

Notably, the deal comes after a string of successful collaborations between Sweeney and Sony. She previously starred in and executive-produced the 2023 movie “Anyone But You.” The romantic comedy reportedly became one of the genre’s biggest surprise hits in recent years.

Her ambitions, however, appear to stretch beyond producing. The report suggests Sweeney has an interest in eventually directing, thus expanding her career. While no directing project has been officially announced, the creation of Honey Trap appears to be a step toward greater creative control over the stories she chooses to tell.

The company has also shared a mission statement outlining its vision. Honey Trap reportedly aims to develop stories that explore “contradictions,” such as “intimacy and power, vulnerability and control.” The goal, according to the statement, is to “create bold, cinematic film” while “championing visionary filmmakers” and unexpected narratives.

Sweeney remains one of Hollywood’s busiest young stars. She has several major projects already in the pipeline, including the planned “Barbarella” remake and multiple literary adaptations. However, if reports are accurate, Honey Trap could become one of her most important projects yet.
