Among the many questions we have about the Summer House reunion, one of the lingering ones is what in the hell is going on with Amanda Batula’s hair. It’s part ponytail, part bun, and 100% polarizing.
At this point, the controversial hairdo has taken on a life of its own, but Amanda’s hairstylist isn’t on board with the criticism. She’s standing by her work and just doubled down on this hairdo.

Of course, Amanda was already not doing well in the court of public opinion thanks to her unexpected romance with West Wilson. She didn’t do herself many favors when she walked into the Summer House reunion with this ponytail bun, and it’s given the Bravoverse yet another reason to drag her.
Amanda’s hairstylist, Olivia Halpin, waded into the conversation on Instagram this week, sharing a few pics of Amanda’s reunion looks and taking credit for whatever was happening on her head.
“The bun you love to hate,” Olivia captioned a photo of Amanda at the reunion in her butter yellow dress.
Naturally, the comments were flooded with Summer House fans continuing to take jabs at the unusual hairdo. Most people were surprised to learn that Amanda didn’t do it herself.
“Wait she paid to have this done??????” one person wrote.
Another added, “Bold move to actually claim this. I would have taken this information to the grave. If she booked for an hour, what did you do with the remaining 56 min?”
Fortunately for Olivia, she did have a few people in her corner. The negative feedback has been loud, but there are some fans who think the hairstyle actually works.
“I feel like everyone’s Amanda hate is clouding the fact that the bun is so cute,” one supporter wrote.
Olivia even got the stamp of approval from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s resident fashionista, Bronwyn Newport. She slid into the comments and wrote, “I love your buns.”
Whether you love it or hate it, the bun is here to stay.
