Love Island USA is mixing things up this season. The popular reality dating show introduced a new twist in the final moments of the premiere. This time, when the bombshells were introduced, they were allowed more than one companion. Bring on the throuple dates!
Love Island USA Season 8 has gotten off to a wild start
The show introduced a new twist to the formula by allowing the bombshells to bring two dates. After the first 24 hours in the villa, host Ariana Madix asked the new couples whether they wanted to stay with their pairings or explore something new. Islanders Beatriz, Trinity, Bryce, and Zach all opted to explore.
So when the show introduced the two bombshells, Kayda and Gabriel, four potentials were waiting for them. And this time, they were able to take them both. Gabriel took Beatriz and Trinity to a fun hideaway while Kayda led Bryce and Zach away from the villa.
That meant Kenzie and Sean were left single in the villa. This was surprising to Sean because he thought things were going great. It looks like no one is ever really safe on Love Island.
However, while an evening of throuples gave the show a new twist, the trio groups weren’t meant to last. By the end of the trio dates, the bombshells were asked who they wanted to couple with moving forward before officially becoming residents of the villa.
From her choices, Kayda ended up choosing Zach while Gabriel opted for Beatriz. This left Trinity and Bryce to become a couple. This still left Kenzie and Sean vulnerable.
It was a nice little twist and allowed the bombshells to talk to more than one option before having to make a decision. I wonder if this is going to be the same when new bombshells are introduced later down the line, or if it was a one-time thing.
