Jennifer Lopez, who finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck on January 6, 2025, recently revealed that she was in a better place following her split from the Argo star.
During an interview with Tefi Talks host Tefi Pessoa at the NYC premiere of Office Romance, her latest film, Lopez said, “I call this my happy era. But two years ago, I was sitting on my balcony with my three best friends, and I had just gone through a terrible time in my life and through a bad breakup, and I was just like, ‘I forgot about that little girl.’”
She explained that the experience led her to reconnect with herself and “come back” to herself.
“I had to say to her, ‘I love you, I really love you,’” she added. “I love you for all that you’ve been through all these years with me, and we’re still here. And it was like a reconnection with myself.”
Lopez further joked that she was now spending time with the younger version of herself. “We’re hanging out now, like, we’re together,” she said. “We’re one again. We’re one again, and we dance through the aisles, and we’re having a good time… Like, don’t miss this moment. Put on your fancy dress and let’s go!”
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez met in 2001. Affleck proposed to her in late 2002. However, they did not marry at that time. They reunited in 2021 and officially tied the knot in 2022. However, the pair filed for divorce less than two years later. Their divorce was finalized in 2025.
