King Charles Thinks Prince William’s Efforts Are Misplaced — Insider

A reported difference in priorities is said to be creating friction between King Charles and Prince William. An insider claims the King believes his eldest son is focusing on the wrong areas as he prepares for his future role as monarch. The latter continues to champion causes close to his heart and carve out space for a life beyond royal duty.

However, sources suggest King Charles would prefer to see him devote more attention to diplomacy and public-facing responsibilities. The alleged disagreement has apparently become another point of tension in an already complicated father-son dynamic.

King Charles reportedly disagrees with one of Prince William’s priorities

Prince William has made the Earthshot Prize one of his signature initiatives. The environmental award has become a major part of his public work and global profile. But according to an insider, King Charles reportedly believes William’s attention should be directed elsewhere.

The source claims the King wants the Prince of Wales to focus more heavily on diplomacy and overseas engagements. As per the insider, the former sees international outreach as a key responsibility for any future monarch. “Charles keeps trying to impress on everyone how important it is that they be seen as an asset to the country right now,” the source told Closer.

The insider alleged that King Charles has grown frustrated by what he sees as William’s reluctance to take on more foreign trips. Some critics have reportedly questioned whether the prince has undertaken enough overseas visits outside of events connected to Earthshot.

According to the source, this issue has become a particular sore spot for the King. He reportedly believes public service and diplomacy should come before personal preferences or passion projects.

Meanwhile, William is said to have a very different view. The insider claimed the future king feels he is already carrying a significant workload. He reportedly points to his charity work, public engagements, and family responsibilities as evidence that he is fully committed to royal service.

William, the source added, also believes he has “proven himself enough to have earned the right to set his own priorities.” Further, the insider claimed that he does “not appreciate his father or anyone in The Firm trying to micromanage him.”

For now, the alleged dispute appears to center on one question: what should a future king prioritize? According to insiders, King Charles and Prince William may have very different answers.
