Prince Harry may reportedly use his and Meghan Markle’s kids in “emotional blackmail” against his father, King Charles, during his UK trip. Harry’s visit comes amid ongoing family tension after he stepped back from royal duties in 2020. The Duke of Sussex is expected to refer to Archie and Lilibet in an appeal to the King.
Prince Harry is reportedly bringing Archie and Lilibet to UK to ‘blackmail’ King Charles
Reports allege that Prince Harry plans to bring his children, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, to the UK to persuade King Charles.
According to a royal author, the Prince is leaning on “emotional blackmail” in hopes of returning his kids to Britain. He’s scheduled to visit the UK next month to promote the 2027 Invictus Games. However, security concerns could mean he makes the trip solo, without Meghan Markle or Archie and Lilibet.
As reported by the Daily Express, Prince Harry has repeatedly contested rulings on his UK security and said that the current case-by-case security reviews put his family at risk. The Home Office is still examining the issue. However, royal commentator Tom Bower has suggested that the 41-year-old might try to win King Charles’ support by “emotionally blackmailing” him with the prospect of seeing his grandchildren.
On the Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered podcast, Bower argued that the King doesn’t appear desperate to see Archie and Lilibet. He added that while being a grandfather is rewarding, a father won’t welcome more issues if his son is already a source of trouble.
The commentator even stated that Prince Harry’s visits to Britain often lead to disruption. “This is now Harry trying to play the last roll of the dice,” Tom Bower added. “It’s emotional blackmail, but it’s desperation – he’s fighting it out on the airwaves.”
In a 2023 High Court filing, Prince Harry called Britain his home. But he argued his children couldn’t share that view if they couldn’t be protected while in the UK. After losing his appeal against the reduction of post-Megxit security, the Duke spoke to the BBC. He shared that the ruling left him deeply upset and claimed it strained his relationship with the King.
